SF is Going Green Cinematically!

Time to hide your plastic grocery bags and slip on your "I love the Earth and the Earth Loves Me" T-shirt made from 100% recycled fibers because SF's Green Film Festival, March 1-7 2012, is HERE! What a treat, dazzling cinematography, inspirational content with an impacting message, AND a chance to sit up close and personal with the some of the creators behind these digital works of art, almost hard to believe that all of this eco-friendly cinematic bliss can be rolled into 1 week! Just another reason to add to the "10,000 Reasons I'm SO Pumped I Moved to/Live/Exist in SF" list. The San Francisco Green Film Festival kicks off at 7:00pm tonight (3/1/12) with the premiere of The Island President, directed by revolutionary American filmmaker Jon Shenk.  The screening and party will be held at The New People Building, 1746 Post St.  Shenk and members from his crew will attend the SF premiere live, in person! Unfortunately according to sfgreenfilmfest.org, tickets to the actual show have been sold out but, don't fret Maldives lovers, party tickets are still on sale!  


So for those of you who may have been thinking this "green" movement thing has become the new fad diet and has lost it's resonance, lucky for you, the SF Green Film Festival is here in 2012.  For a second time, this festival aims to help remind us of the reasons we went "green" and stayed that way to begin with. All the information from today's post comes from the sfgreenfilmfest.org website and is the same place where you can find more details on the 2012 festival.  So, GO CHECK IT OUT, now, thanks:)

On May 24th, 1990 in Oakland, CA, a bomb explodes in Judi's car and she suffers debilitating injuries alongside confidant Darryl Cherney. Produced by Darryl Cherney, this film chronicles a movement, the false accusations and court struggles that follow the blast leading to a surprising resolution.
